A dry January? Why it’s not a good idea!
Looking for the perfect antidote to a dry January? We have it! Try something new!
Firstly, here are 3 good reasons why you shouldn’t stop drinking in January!
- January is a hard month. Filled with post-Christmas blues, post-Christmas debts, feeling obliged to diet, incessant rain and never ending darkness. Give yourself a break.
- Complete abstinence will likely end in an aggressive rebound! February could become very wet!
- Four pubs close a day in the UK –don’t let your local pub down!

This isn’t changing deck chairs on the titanic, but the spice of life! Check out our ‘wine of the month’ feature for regular suggestions from our in-house wine expert Tony Stebbings on what to drink each month.
This month, Tony has actually suggested you really go off piste (especially for the skiers amongst you) with a white wine from Switzerland.
This one is known locally as ‘Fendant’ produced from the chasselas grape. It has a subtle fresh bouquet with a hint of minerality, on the taste it is round and dry. Great to have with salads but even better with a cheese Fondue?
It’s not easy to find in the UK but R & B Wines Ltd have one on their list the 2014 vintage at about £17 per bottle. You can email: randbwines@aol.com (but note that you are obliged to buy a minimum of 12 bottles mixed from their very informative list.)
Go on, cheer it up a little!
