Our story
The SmoothRed story begins, somewhat unsurprisingly, with a passion for wine and travel.
Our founder, Adam Stebbings, comes from a family with deep roots in the wine industry dating back six generations. After taking part in a Bordeaux wine harvest in 1998, and 18 months on the road, seeking inspiration and fuelling his love of travel, he launched SmoothRed in 2004.
We’ve evolved considerably since those early days, responding to the needs and desires of our clients. From Bordeaux wine experiences to other classic wine destinations, first within France then expanding to include the likes of Tuscany and Rioja. We introduced emerging wine destinations such as Croatia, Hungary, and Romania, thus quenching the desire of discerning travellers and wine aficionados looking to venture further off the beaten path.

Our team has expanded too. Passionate, dedicated and multi-lingual (speaking a total of 12 languages), we regularly visit our destinations, building up an intimate knowledge of each region and developing our extensive network of boutique hotels, local historians, and emblematic winemakers.
