What is your most memorable travel experience?
I am a passionate advocate for my home country, Romania, and I often highlight its unique charm and natural beauty. My love for the outdoors is evident in my fondness for hiking and exploring the country’s vast woodlands and clear rivers. One of my cherished memories is watching the sunset from a hilltop in Romania, savouring local wine and cheese. The combination of the stunning view, the tranquillity of nature, and the taste of local produce deeply connects me to my roots and reinforces my appreciation for Romania’s natural beauty and simplicity (picture to prove it!).
Which destination is next on your list?
Looking ahead, I dream of exploring the vibrant island of Tenerife, where one of my best friends has moved. The allure of the island’s diverse landscapes, the aroma of freshly grilled seafood, and the promise of hidden beaches captivate me. I can’t wait to wander through the picturesque villages, sip on local wines, and soak in Tenerife’s unique blend of natural beauty and cultural heritage!
What is your favourite food and wine pairing?
When it comes to food and wine pairings, I’m not too fussy. I call myself a foodie and I’m in the live-to-eat, not eat-to-live camp! I am always open to trying new combinations, but I tend to avoid anything too fatty or too sweet unless it’s a well-aged Sauternes, which is an exception I’ll always make! A delicious combination we love having in Romania is a red wine made from the native grape “Feteasca Neagra” with a good barbecue — always a winner at friend and family gatherings!
