As they started their family, Anna shifted her focus to spending time with their children and supporting Adam in growing the business. What is your most memorable travel experience?
It has to be the trip Adam and I took from San Francisco to Napa Valley and Sonoma when we first recce’d the region for SmoothRed. We hired a Mustang and cruised along the stunning coastline, visiting iconic spots like Muir Woods with its towering redwoods and the picturesque Bodega Bay. We soaked in the breathtaking landscapes, explored boutique local wineries, and, of course, filled two suitcases with our favourite Pinot Noirs to bring home to the UK! It was an unforgettable adventure that not only deepened our love for wine but also inspired us to create the incredible experiences we now share with our SmoothRed travellers.
Which destination is next on your list?
Next on my wish list? South Africa! I’d love to explore its breathtaking landscapes, from the stunning vineyards of Stellenbosch to the wild beauty of the Garden Route. I can’t wait to indulge in world-class wines, soak in the vibrant culture, and, of course, take our two boys on a thrilling safari to see the incredible wildlife up close. Both Adam and I are passionate about sharing these experiences with our children, and we want to bring them along on the journeys we create for SmoothRed, so they can enjoy the adventure and discover the world with us. It’s the perfect blend of great wines, adventure, and family bonding!
What is your favourite food and wine pairing?
Choosing just one favourite is too tough, so I’ll pick two! First, a rich Mendoza Malbec paired with a perfectly cooked, rare fillet of beef. And for dessert, nothing beats a chilled glass of Sauternes alongside a velvety crème brûlée.
