About Christina

What is your most memorable travel experience?

One of my most memorable travel experiences was a 20-day backpacking trip through the Balkans. I started in Slovenia, where I was welcomed by the friendliness of the people in Ljubljana and the stunning beauty of its lakes and mountains. In Croatia, I wandered through the medieval villages of Split and Dubrovnik and was mesmerized by the haunting melodies of the sea organ in Zadar. Bosnia was next, where I felt the unique blend of cultures in Sarajevo’s two souls—East and West. In Serbia, Belgrade’s vibrant artistic district left a lasting impression. My journey concluded in Greece, where I marvelled at the incredible history of Athens and witnessed the best sunset I’ve ever experienced over the Monolithos Castle in Rhodes. Each country had its own unique charm, making the trip unforgettable.

The meticulous organization required for this trip made me realize that I wanted to work in travel. Planning each leg of the journey, coordinating logistics, and discovering hidden gems along the way sparked a passion in me for creating memorable experiences. The satisfaction I felt from turning a complex itinerary into a seamless adventure made it clear that helping others explore the world was something I wanted to pursue professionally.

Which destination is next on your list?

Next on my list is Canada, with Montreal and Toronto in particular. I’m excited to explore the cultural heritage of these dynamic cities, dive into their diverse food scenes, and discover the local wine offerings. Beyond the urban attractions, I’m also looking forward to experiencing Canada’s stunning natural landscapes, from lush parks to scenic trails. I’ve heard so much about the unique blend of history and modernity in both places, and I can’t wait to experience it firsthand. And it will be my first time crossing the Atlantic!

What is your favourite food and wine pairing?

I love experimenting with food and wine pairings, and one of my favourites is Riesling with sushi; however, there’s something truly magical about pairing local food with local wine. Wild boar ragù pappardelle with Brunello and Fassona beef tartare with a slightly chilled Verduno Pelaverga will always have a special place in my heart (and stomach!).
