About Harry

What is your most memorable travel experience?

It is so hard to pick one, with many trips having their own unique memories that hold a place in my heart. From exploring the beautiful coastline and hidden caves of the Algarve, sampling some of Ireland’s famous whiskey and stout and enjoying a delicious variety of cured meats and cheeses, with a glass of Barolo on a backstreet in Milan. The real standout for me, however, was the crystal-clear seas of the Caribbean in Barbados. It was the perfect combination of days spent on the beach or diving from a catamaran, followed by nights at local rum shacks and tucking in to fresh fish cooked over hot coals!

Which destination is next on your list?

There are too many for me to choose just one. Fiji has always been top of my bucket list, with the island lifestyle and incredible hospitality. Nashville to live my cowboy dreams and to see a show at the Grand Ole Opry. However, next on my list is Argentina. For me the perfect trip would have to include an Asado, with wine of course, a day pretending I am a gaucho and a visit to watch some Argentinian rugby. For me it really is the perfect destination.

What is your favourite food and wine pairing?

I’m not so sure I believe in food and wine pairings. For me it’s about the occasion. Whether that’s a bottle of Pinotage shared with friends on a winter’s night or a refreshing white Rioja in the summer sun. I do however think that my favourite pairing is a game of rugby with a bottle of tawny port passed around the changing rooms afterwards. It really is a rite of passage.
