About Lisa
What is your most memorable travel experience?
I’ve had a lifelong passion for travel, and since I was old enough, wine! From enjoying lunches on the terraces of the Douro Valley and tasting wines on Mount Etna to road trips across California, I’ve had my fair share of incredible experiences. Its been fascinating to also explore lesser known wine regions over the years around Eastern Europe, including Romania and Hungary (I am a big fan of Tokaji), countries that are so rich in history and culture.
Which destination is next on your list?
Barcelona. It has been on my bucket list for quite some time. From the stunning architecture of Gaudí to the vibrant street life, the city has an undeniable charm. The thought of wandering down Las Ramblas, soaking in the lively atmosphere, and indulging in tapas in one of the bustling squares has always appealed to me. I’m already dreaming of spending an afternoon in the Gothic Quarter, discovering hidden gems, and enjoying the Mediterranean sunshine. It’s a place where every corner seems to have a new surprise waiting.
What is your favourite food and wine pairing?
Chardonnay and a good lobster. Lobster has a naturally sweet, delicate texture, and is often served with butter or rich, creamy sauces. A lightly oaked or unoaked Chardonnay — such as those from Chablis — offers citrus, green apple, and mineral notes that complement the lobster’s subtle flavour without overwhelming it. When butter features on the plate, a well-rounded Chardonnay is nearly always a winning choice!
