What is your most memorable travel experience?
Anywhere where food and culture meet — Spain and Italy stand out as favourites. In Madrid, spend a day exploring the Reina Sofia and Prado museums followed by a tapas crawl. In Italy, the area around the Bay of Naples has my heart. Beyond the Amalfi Coast and Pompeii, this region is full of hidden gems like the Capodimonte museum, fried pizza (trust me), great volcanic wines, one of few remaining Roman colosseums, geothermal spas on Ischia…I could go on.
Which destination is next on your list?
I’m also a lifelong nature lover and am particularly interested in Europe’s growing rewilding movement. Some experiences high on my list include tracking wolves and bears in Italy’s Apennine Mountains, birdwatching in Romania’s Danube Delta, and pairing Douro wine tasting with lynx spotting in Portugal’s Côa Valley.
What is your favourite food and wine pairing?
A big plate of seafood pasta with a bottle of Fiano di Avellino or Vinho Verde.
