After studying tourism and hospitality management, she set off to the U.S. for a workaway experience before returning home. Life, however, had other plans, as her path led her to London for a while and then to Cape Town for several years, where she discovered her deep appreciation for the Cape’s unique wine regions and vibrant food scene before returning to London.
About Magda
What is your most memorable travel experience?
One of my favourite trips was exploring Zambia and Zanzibar with my dad. We’ve always had a habit of choosing the most random and exciting adventures, and this trip was no exception. A standout moment was visiting Victoria Falls, it honestly felt like stepping into a scene from Jurassic World. Some of the most surreal (and slightly terrifying) things we did was sit in Devil’s Pool, right at the edge of the falls in Zambia, watching the water drop off beside us and walk with lions. Thinking about it now, the most dangerous thing I probably did there was eat the raw game meat carpaccio.
Which destination is next on your list?
I constantly have about 10 trip itineraries going at the same time, so it is a difficult one. My top 3 would probably be Japan, Mexico and China, but I also have loads of smaller road trips planned within the UK. One destination that’s always on my list is Italy – I return every single year without fail and try to explore every last corner. I don’t think one can go to Italy and have a bad time!
What is your favourite food and wine pairing?
Easy: a chilled bottle of Gelber Muskateller with a massive charcuterie board of local produce on a sunny day (the more cheese the better).
