What is your most memorable travel experience?
After completing my wine qualifications, I wanted to immerse myself in some of Europe’s most iconic wine regions. I spent a month travelling through France, starting in Biarritz in the Basque Country, then heading to Bordeaux for tastings in St Émilion and a visit to La Cité du Vin. From there, I travelled to Cassis in Provence, with its beautiful beaches, Calanques hikes and vineyards just steps from the coast, and then to Aix-En-Provence to visit the gorgeous Luberon villages and drink rosé. My final stop was Alsace, where I followed the wine trail through its famous villages, tasting Riesling, Pinot Gris and Pinot Noir. The trip truly sparked my love for wine travel.
Which destination is next on your list?
I’d love to explore the wine regions of Greece. With Greece’s indigenous grape varieties and stunning vineyard landscapes, it offers something truly unique. Visiting the vineyards of the Peloponnese, Santorini and Nemea is high on my list. I’d also love to spend time in Athens, exploring the ancient ruins and learning more about Greek mythology.
What is your favourite food and wine pairing?
English Sparkling Wine paired with native oysters, and some nocellara olives and salted crisps on the side. Best enjoyed on a sunny day.
