Boys Hall

Newly opened in 2023, Boys Hall is a 17th century Jacobean manor house that’s been lovingly restored as an intimate boutique hotel and restaurant.

Set in three acres of wild country garden on the outskirts of Ashford, this historic house once played host to Charles I as he was fleeing Oliver Cromwell. Now it’s a haven of tranquillity with lots of inviting places to cosy up on squashy sofas next to oversized fireplaces, and a wonderful restaurant showcasing local produce.  

Ranging in size and character, the 10 guestrooms and suites are individually designed and named after local characters and places. Original features such as wood panelling and beamed ceilings blend with rich colours, king-size beds with Hypnos mattresses, elegant fabrics, and antique finds for a warm and homely feel. All rooms have Roberts radios and drench showers, while some features freestanding roll-top bathtubs in the bedrooms. 

The beautiful oak-beamed restaurant serves a fine dining menu showcasing local, seasonal produce, from the ‘Garden of England’, paired with a wine list with Kentish and international vintages. In the summer, dining spills outside to the terrace, and there’s a cosy little pub and lounge that’s open to locals too.
