Relais San Maurizio

Piedmont

Built in 1619, Relais San Maurizio is a former Cistercian monastery that’s been transformed into a luxurious gourmet and spa hotel.

Set on a hilltop in the wine-producing Langhe hills, this idyllic property features a Michelin-starred restaurant, innovative medical and wellness centre, swimming pool, gym, and magical views of Italy’s Piedmont region.

The Monastery houses 30 characterful rooms and suites within the monks’ former cells and stables, with exposed beams, inlaid floors, marble fireplaces and classic décor. There are an additional six luxury suites in the exclusive Villa San Luigi, decorated in a more contemporary style with sun terraces, private Jacuzzis and plenty of space to relax and unwind.

Dine on innovative, Michelin-starred cuisine celebrating the flavours of the region at Guido da Costigliole, set in the atmospheric monastery cellars, or opt for comforting local favourites in Origini Bistrot. Enjoy an aperitif or after-dinner drink in the Hemmingway Bar, which has a cocktail list inspired by the great American writer.

Indulge in a selection of therapies in the celebrated spa including vinotherapy and relaxing massages, detox in the Salt Cave, and take a dip in the outdoor pool while drinking in the stunning views.
