Located on a ridge surrounded by vineyards, olive groves and forest, Dievole occupies an ancient hamlet in Italy that was once home to Tuscan nobility.

Set amid tranquil gardens, the 18th-century manor house has been fully restored as a luxury hotel complete with gourmet restaurant, two panoramic swimming pools, a bar, wine cellar and tasting room, all circled by Dievole’s vast wine estate.

The 27 rooms and suites are gorgeous. Divided across four buildings, they offer true Tuscan chic, with high ceilings, plenty of natural light, muted colour schemes, floor-to-ceiling drapes, and still life paintings of citrus fruit and olives. All offer sumptuous marble bathrooms and superb views, while the suites offer abundant space and the occasional private terrace.

Set on the ground floor of the villa, spilling out to the courtyard in summer, Ristorante Novecento offers traditional Tuscan cuisine based on local, seasonal produce, accompanied by Dievole’s own wines. Head to the neighbouring lounge bar for a pre or post-dinner drink

The estate has miles of walking trails to explore, punctured by picnic spots (the hotel will pack up a picnic upon request), and two large pools for balmy days. Guests can enjoy Tuscan wine tours of the estate, tastings of their wine and olive oil, and cookery lessons.
