Hotel L’Orologio

Overlooking the historic square of Santa Maria Novella, Hotel L’Orologio is a stylish boutique property, a few minutes’ walk from the Duomo and Ponte Vecchio in Florence, Italy.

Based in a handsome townhouse dating from the 1800s, it offers a truly unique stay in the heart of the city, its contemporary design inspired by the art of haute horlogerie – fine watchmaking – with the art and design details reflecting the owner’s vintage watch collection. 

The 55 guestrooms and suites are divided amongst a number of floors, each inspired by a different luxury watchmaker, including Patek Philippe, Rolex and Vacheron Constantin. The rooms have the elegant feel of a refined gentlemen’s club with dark furniture, rich fabrics and marble bathrooms. Look out for the fascinating detailing, such as door handles in the shape of watch hands and sink taps that look like winding crowns of watches. 

Fuel up for the day’s adventures in the fourth floor dining room, which serves continental and American breakfasts with bird’s eye views over the surrounding rooftops and piazza. The ground floor L’O Bar offers coffee, drinks and light snacks throughout the day; for anything else, the restaurants and trattorias of Florence are on your doorstep.  

There’s a sauna and small gym on site to help you unwind after exploring, and a smoking lounge for relaxing.
