Palau Fugit

Catalonia

Sat within the ancient walls of Girona’s old town, Palau Fugit is an 18th-century palace turned boutique hotel where Catalan heritage meets contemporary design.

With just 25 individually crafted rooms, this intimate hideaway is a love letter to local artistry and Girona’s rich cultural rhythms.

LOCATION

Palau Fugit sits at the heart of Girona’s historic quarter, just steps from the city’s most iconic sights. Wander to the majestic Girona Cathedral or lose yourself in the labyrinthine streets of the Jewish Quarter, both minutes away. Despite its central location, the hotel remains blissfully serene thanks to its position on a traffic-restricted street, allowing you to soak up the peaceful ambiance undisturbed.

YOUR ROOM

Every room at Palau Fugit tells a story. The ‘Fugit Torre’ penthouse suite offers sweeping views over the city’s terracotta rooftops and the historic university, complete with a private terrace perfect for sunrise coffees or twilight drinks. Prefer garden tranquility? Opt for the ‘Pati Garden’ room with direct access to the lush courtyard, where bursts of colourful blooms frame a calming fountain crafted by renowned artist Frederic Amat. Inside, expect warm wooden beams, curated books and thoughtful touches like Olively bath products made from locally sourced olive oil and soft Teixidors blankets woven in Catalonia.

WHY WE LIKE IT

Art and culture pulse through Palau Fugit. The hotel doubles as a gallery space with curated exhibitions from local talents like Eliurpi and Andrea Torres Balaguer, blending hospitality with Girona’s vibrant creative scene. Come evening, join the hotel’s beloved ‘Vermut Fugit’ tradition on the rooftop terrace – an invitation to unwind with complimentary aperitifs while watching the sunset paint the old town in golden hues.
