Set within seven hectares of beautifully manicured grounds on the edge of Reims, Domaine Les Crayères is an elegant, chateau-style property built in 1904 for Louise Pommery, Duchess of Polignac. This Relais & Chateaux hotel is decadent and romantic, with palatial décor worthy of French royalty.
Classical French style radiates from each of the 20 ornate rooms and suites, spread across the chateau and cottage. Featuring heavy drapes, richly patterned fabrics and antique furnishings, the rooms exude Rococo and Belle Epoque flair, with large windows overlooking the gardens.
Headed by celebrity chef, Philippe Mille, the two-Michelin-starred Le Parc restaurant serves refined French cuisine with an emphasis on locally sourced ingredients with a creative twist. There’s also a more casual brasserie, Le Jardin, and a bar, La Rotonde, which has over 600 champagne labels.
Outside, there’s a fabulous terrace to relax on and grounds to wander round, while many of the major champagne houses are a just a few minutes’ stroll away, including Pommery, Veuve Clicquot and Taittinger.
