Located in a former fire station opposite the magnificent Notre-Dame de Reims Cathedral, La Caserne Chanzy offers a unique stay in the Champagne region. A member of Marriott’s Autograph Collection, this elegant hotel and spa sits in the centre of Reims’ historic old town, just a few steps from some of the most beautiful spots in the city.
The 89 rooms and suites are contemporary in style, though around half of them come with a window onto the 14th century, courtesy of the cathedral opposite. Inside they’re sleek and intimate, adorned in champagne-inspired décor, including carpet that evokes a bird’s eye view of the vines and a shower screen painted to imitate champagne bubbles.
Named after the fire station’s original fire engine, La Grande Georgette, the restaurant spills out on to the street, offering traditional French cuisine with a focus on local, seasonal produce. Situated in the hotel lobby, the champagne bar has an extensive wine list with around 280 different champagnes alone.
The Deep Nature Spa offers the perfect spot to relax and unwind. This haven of tranquillity features a pool with hydrotherapy jets, a sauna, a hammam and five treatment rooms.
