Day 1: Gastronomic Cruise Along the Seine
Upon arrival at Paris airport, you’ll be met by your private driver and transported to your city hotel.
Enjoy an afternoon at leisure before beginning your trip in memorable style with a dinner cruise. Glide along the River Seine on a silent electric boat and enjoy a gourmet five-course meal paired with exceptional wines – and see why this magical city is known as the ‘City of Lights’.
Day 2: Tour the Cultural Sights of Paris on Foot
After breakfast at your hotel, your guide will collect you for a walking tour introducing you to some of the highlights of this iconic city. Paris is a wonderful place to explore on foot, soaking up the atmosphere while learning fascinating stories and facts from your guide.
Today’s tour will introduce you to the birthplace of Paris, the Île de la Cité, which is home to three medieval masterpieces, the Notre-Dame, Sainte-Chapelle, and the Conciergerie. You’ll also visit the Eiffel Tower and the Arc de Triomphe, delve into the cultural neighbourhood of Saint-Germain-des-Prés, and stop for lunch in one of our favourite Parisian brasseries.
Day 3: Tour Sacré Coeur and Paris' only vineyard, Montmarte
Located in the 18th arrondissement, Montmartre is a quintessentially Parisian neighbourhood with a village atmosphere and an arty nature. Today’s private guided tour will take you up the funicular railway to the winding cobblestone streets of this pretty district. See the only vineyard in Paris, and marvel at the Sacré Coeur, with its gigantic mosaic ceiling and panoramic views.
Along the way, you’ll hear the legend of headless Saint Denis, the first bishop of Paris; see the former studios and hangouts of artists including Picasso and Van Gogh; and discover the red-light district and the infamous Moulin Rouge.
Round off your day with dinner and a visit to the mythical jazz club, Le Duc des Lombards.
Day 4: Private Guided Tour of the Palace of Versailles
Walk in the footsteps of French nobility and discover one of the world’s most extravagant palaces on this VIP private guided tour of the Palace of Versailles. See how royalty used to live in the King’s and Queen’s lavish apartments, marvel at the dazzling Hall of the Mirrors and frescoed Chapel Royal, and learn about the scandals and intrigue of court life as you explore this opulent building.
Your tour continues in the extensive landscaped gardens, adorned with fountains, statues, and the impressive Orangery bursting with orange and other fruit trees. You’ll also visit the King’s and Queen’s private palaces – the Grand and Petit Trianon – and the Queen’s Hamlet.
Day 5: Tour the Louvre and the Musée de l'Orangerie
A day of culture awaits as you explore two magnificent museums. The world’s largest museum, the Louvre is a treasure trove of art and history spanning almost 10,000 years. Your private guided tour will introduce you to some of its classic masterpieces, from Egyptian sphinxes and mummies to the Mona Lisa.
Set in the neighbouring Jardin des Tuileries, the Musée de l’Orangerie is best known for its Impressionist artworks, most notably Monet’s famous water lilies paintings.
Why not round off this day of culture with dinner and a seat at the world’s most famous cabernet show at the legendary Moulin Rouge?
Day 6: Parisian Market Visit and Cooking Class
Learn how to shop, cook and eat like a Parisian at this morning market visit and cookery class. This small group experience begins with a wander around the market, shopping for fresh, local ingredients. Back in the kitchen, you’ll learn the secrets of French cuisine and some fundamental culinary techniques, as you prepare some traditional French dishes. This market-to-table experience concludes around the table as you savour your three-course meal with wine and share stories with the chef and fellow amateur cooks.
The rest of the day is yours to enjoy at leisure – perhaps you might like to explore the nearby Jardin des Plantes and the Natural History Museum?
Day 7: Place Vendôme to Place de la Concorde Walking Tour
Between the late 1500s and mid 1800s, the rulers of France were on a mission to beautify the area to the west of the Louvre. And they did a spectacular job. Today’s walking tour begins at Place Vendôme, a vast, elegant square with a dose of Parisian pomp and glamour in the form of luxurious, high-end boutiques.
Continue through the Jardin des Tuileries, formal gardens adorned with fountains, ponds and sculptures, which soon became one of the most fashionable spots for a wander. Your tour concludes in the city’s largest square, Place de la Concorde, home to an infamous guillotine during the French Revolution, and now marked by a 3,300-year-old pink granite obelisk from Egypt.
