Day 1
Check in to The Farmhouse Inn, your home for the next two nights – a charming five-star boutique hotel in the very heart of Sonoma wine country with a spa, heated pool and Michelin-starred restaurant, run by a passionate 5th-generation family of Sonoma country winemakers.
On your first afternoon pack a picnic and head to the nearby Pacific Ocean. Just a short drive away is the stunning coastline and sandy beaches of Jenner, a beautiful nature spot with spectacular sunsets. From here, take the coast road south to Bodega Bay and hike along this dramatic coastline.
This evening indulge in a Michelin-starred dinner prepared in the world-class restaurant in your hotel. Chat with the master sommelier and get a taste of the wines to come.
Day 2
Today is a free day to explore the nearby towns such as Healdsburg, northern Sonoma County’s culinary epicentre. Foodie-scenester restaurants and cafes, wine-tasting rooms and fancy boutiques line Healdsburg Plaza, the town’s sun-dappled central square which although has a contemporary buzz still retains its historic look and charm. Since it offers everything from hamburgers to haute cuisine we suggest you stay for dinner. We have an impressive restaurant list that will satisfy even the most gourmand amongst you. Explore the town plaza, shops, bars, tasting rooms, galleries and the monthly art walk.
Day 3
Today is all about the wild and rugged wine region of Sonoma Valley and the finest New World Pinot Noirs. An expert wine guide and driver will collect you from your hotel after breakfast and escort you to four of the finest Sonoma County vineyards throughout the course of the day. This includes two wineries in the Russian River Valley and two in Dry Creek Valley with a picnic lunch with breathtaking views in between. Many of the tasting rooms have stunning panoramic views of the surrounding Russian River Valley or use impressive organic and biodynamic farming methods. At the tutored tasting sessions you will meet the humble makers behind this world-renowned region and taste their produce.
As the sun sets your wine guide will return you back to your hotel and you will then be transferred to your next destination in Napa Valley, which is just a short drive away. Check in to the luxury of your five-star hotel, The Auberge du Soleil, with breathtaking valley views, pools, a private terrace, a Michelin-starred restaurant and an award-winning spa. Since you’ve had a long day, tonight you can relax and indulge in a six-course Michelin-starred dinner with perfectly matched old and new world wines.
Day 4
Today is all about California’s most famous wine region: Napa Valley, where you’ll be soaking up its finest Cabernet Sauvignons, Petite Sirah and Zinfandels and learn about the terroirs, vines and spirit of this incredible wine region. Your wine guide will escort you to four wineries throughout the course of the day winding your way up the Napa Valley from iconic large-scale to smaller family-run estates.
The first stop is at an iconic, big-name winery which produces an impressive 100,000 cases a year demonstrating the scale of this wine region. Stop for a picnic lunch with a view of the vineyards and finish up in a small family-run winery tucked away on Spring Mountain – a prime example of a long-time small producer in the mountains.
Day 5
Spend the morning relaxing by the pool and enjoying some spa treatments or exploring more of the local area before bidding farewell to this vast and beautiful wine region farewell – unless we can tempt you to stay longer and enjoy a night or two in San Francisco?
