Trip details

Day 1

Relax with flights to Porto, with private transfers on arrival to the city centre. Settle into your 4 star hotel, located in the heart of Porto, making it easy to see the city on foot and discover all the places that made the “undefeated city” a UNESCO World Heritage site: the Ribeira district, the Torre dos Clérigos bell tower and the famous Majestic Café. In the afternoon, stroll to the Vila Nova de Gaia to one of the best Port wine producers that has been making Port in the Douro Valley, Portugal since 1692. Tour of the port lodge and cellars before a Port tasting.

Day 2

Leaving in the morning travel with your private guide, discover the region of Vinho Verde located in the northwest of Portugal in an area traditionally known as Entre-Douro-e-Minho Vinho. Discover a region a region of diverse terroir and grape varieties with a superb tour and tasting in a boutique winery. Travel through the vineyard-covered hillsides of northern Portugal along the Green Wine Route. Visit a charming wine estate hidden in the terraces of an enchanted land, a small paradise set on the banks of the Tâmega River, offering uninterrupted views of forest-covered mountains to contemplate exquisite details of the pastoral rusticity of the Minho region. Enjoy a traditional Portuguese lunch of local specialties with accompanying wine. In the afternoon you will visit one of the most important estates involved in the production of Vinho Verde tasting a wonderful variety of red, white, rose and stunning sparkling wines. Later that afternoon relax with private transfers to Porto.

Day 3

Leaving in the morning travel with your private guide, exploring the stunning scenery of the Douro Valley as you travel along the winding roads towards Pinhao. In the morning you will visit a famous Port Lodge, enjoy a guided tour and wander through vineyards dramatically situated atop rolling hills overlooking Távora River, where the views are quite spectacular. Following the tour in the steep vineyards relax with a morning port tasting. Traveling a short distance time to relax as lunch is served with accompanying wines in a local restaurant (option to have lunch in a superb magnificently placed restaurant with terraced garden commanding views down the Douro, details TBC); this really is a stunning location a great place to enjoy lunch with accompanying wines. Embark on a stunning half day cruise from Régua to Pinhão, through one of the most prestigious routes of Douro River! Later that afternoon relax with private transfers to Porto.

Day 4

Explore Vila Nova de Gaia, a bustling, important town in the North region, right in front of the great Porto city, separated by the magnificent Douro river. Vila Nova de Gaia is the major Port wine production centre, with the city centre dominated by all the wine lodges of the most famous names in winemaking. Relax with private transfers to the airport for your return flight home.
