The Wine Garden of England Tour

Day 1

Arrive in the Wine Garden of England by your own arrangements, settle into your accommodation.  A classic British country house once home to eminent politicians, lords and viscounts. This manor house is set back from tree-lines lanes, and set in 22 acres of stunning rural parkland. Meet with your wine specialist guide on arrival.

On your first afternoon, take a trip to Squerryes Winery –this is a beautiful and historic vineyard set within a 2,500 acre estate on the North Downs. Discover the vineyard by Land Rover, followed by a tutored wine tasting paired with Kentish cheeses and charcuterie with. The evening is yours to dine at the hotel restaurant at your leisure (dinner not included).

Day 2

After a leisurely morning, head over to the picturesque town of Fordwich for lunch. Situated on the Great Stour river and on record as the smallest town in Britain, it is the perfect spot for a leisurely stroll followed by lunch. Enjoy lunch in the delightfully traditional English pub The
Fordwich Arms located a stones throw from the river. In the afternoon, enjoy a walking tour of the Simpsons winery, known as the ‘The Roman Road’ vineyard taking in the vines and learning about how they are planted, grown and harvested. Following the tour, your tasting will include wines from Simpsons Wine Estate and the sister property in Southern France. After the winery tour, you will be taken to your next accommodation: A Spa Hotel with glorious views of the North Downs.

Day 3

In the morning, your guide will take you on a scenic drive across the countryside to the Gusbourne Estate in the charming Appledore. Visit the estate, which uses a combination or modern and traditional estates and enjoy a tasting of their sparkling wines afterwards in their stunning new tasting room. Lunch is arranged at Chapel Down’s Michelin-recommended on-site restaurant (for special occasions there is the option to book The Chef’s Table, a private dining room with direct views of the vibrant kitchen). Following a sumptuous lunch, visit the world-famous Chapel Down winery which is recognised as an  ‘Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty’. In the evening, dine in one of the most picturesque corners of Kent feasting on British pub cuisine made with fresh local ingredients. This evening, you will be staying in a Victorian Farmhouse restored recently by the National Trust.

Day 4

In the morning, visit the family-run vineyard Biddenden Vineyards which are home to the oldest vines in Kent. Taste their award-winning  Sparkling Wines. Lunch will be served in an English pub, part of the Hush Heath Estate. After lunch you will be visiting the Hush Heath estate, which produces one of England’s most iconic and exclusive sparkling wines using the Traditional Method. Your final night will be staying at the charming Hever Castle near Edenbridge, within the grounds of the double-moated castle.

Day 5

Unwind over a leisurely breakfast. In the morning, admire the giant topiary chess set and inhale the fragrance of over 4,000 rose bushes in the quintessential English Rose Garden before departing, own arrangements.
