SmoothRed have been informed by their contacts in the Beaujolais region, that the 2013 vintage for the gamay grape was extremely good both in volume and quality;this was due to the very favourable long hours of
sunshine in July and August, which is welcome news to the local producers after the significant low harvest of the previous vintage. The 2013 wines have great colour are well structured ,with elegant tannins and excellent concentration of fruit, This is very different from what we have heard from many other regions of France where they have witnessed the 2013 vintage to be extremely difficult.
