Travel Sales Specialist

SmoothRed requires an enthusiastic, sales-focused individual to join the team. This is an opportunity to launch your career in the field of tailor made holidays, specialising in wine travel and bespoke events. The more you sell, the more you earn, so when you’re not bringing in new business, you’ll be contacting our existing clients. You will be responsible for driving and facilitating sales by providing a proactive, professional and efficient sale service. This is an exciting opportunity to join a rapidly growing company recognised as one of the best in its field and to build and develop your own client list. The successful candidate will work sociable hours from our office in SW London. French, Italian, Portuguese or Spanish languages useful but not essential


Salary will be based on experience with an excellent uncapped commission structure (OTE 25k / 35K)

Role Responsibility:

    • Responding to customer enquiries by telephone and e-mail and logging on our database.
    • Pursuing all sales opportunities and leads on a regular basis with a view to sales conversion.
    • Designing and arranging unique itineraries for tailor-made travel and events for both private and corporate clients.
    • Making outbound marketing calls to our client database to promote new destinations and advise on future travel ideas.
  • Collecting and processing payments and other general administrative duties.

Your Personality:

    • Excellent verbal communication and organisational skills throughout the booking to offer the best customer service before, during and after the experience
    • An intuitive listener who can respond to and reassure clients on a wide range of travel experiences
    • Good geographical knowledge of Europe
    • Sales skills and experience in a target-driven role. Experience in the travel industry is highly desirable
    • Good understanding of English language both oral and written
    • Meticulous attention to detail with creative flair when appropriate
    • Strong interpersonal skills and an outgoing personality
    • Flexibility to adapt within a growing business
    • Availability to work full time on a rotating shift, including some Saturday work
  • Oh and a sense of humour!

Finer Details:

    • Start Date: Immediately.
    • Experience in sales. 1+ year experience in B2C sales would be a bonus
    • Located in: Wandsworth SW18.
    • Knowledge of a European language is also a bonus but not essential.
    • Contract: Monday-Friday, 09.00-18.00 (occasional weekends in high season)

Operations Executive

We’re looking for grafters and self-starters to join the team, who can keep up with the pace and want to make a difference. We’re friendly, happy, and most importantly, we work hard (except Friday afternoons). We’re not afraid to get our hands dirty and we’re all passionate about the brand. Oh, and we love wine and travel!

We are looking for a passionate and hardworking individual to join the  team. The role will require excellent communication skills as you will be working alongside the Sales team. To be an operational contact point to clients and external suppliers. The successful candidate will be involved in a range of duties– and therefore benefit from having a great overview of how a travel company operates. An exciting opportunity for a progressive, forward thinking, travel product executive.

Role Responsibility:

    • Remuneration:  TBC – Dependent on experience
    • Acting as a professional ambassador for the SmoothRed brand when liaising with all clients and suppliers.
    • Final itinerary preparation, cross referencing confirmations from suppliers with the details on the booking system.
    • Liaising with a range of suppliers in the UK and Europe including hotels, tour guides, transport companies and wine guides etc.
    • Diligently checking all bookings for accuracy; this may require that you chase contacts for confirmations and double check the finer details of all our travel experiences.
    • Data entry of various kinds – including adding all new and booked clients on our management systems.
    • Prepare and the travel packs to include the itineraries, vouchers, address labels etc.
    • On occasions, assisting the operations team with wine event management (this will include confirming bookings, presentations, liaising with the client and possibly attending the events).
    • Ensuring our restaurant lists (in our core destinations) are up to date and researching new ones if required.
    • Researching other information about our new destinations, for example tourist activities and events for the calendar.
  • Answering the phone, taking messages for the team.

Your Personality:

    • Have a proactive, can-do attitude and be willing to get involved in all aspects of the company; from admin, operations, event management, sales, marketing and accounts.
    • To ensure that actions relating to tailor-made packages are turned around to agreed deadlines.
    • The ability to prioritise your workload in a busy environment with a positive, can-do attitude.
    • Task orientated a great administrator.
    • Knowledge of the travel sector is desirable.
    • Be highly organised with the ability to organise and prioritise their workload.
    • Have excellent verbal and written communication skills; you’ll be using the phone, email and written correspondence on behalf of the company.
    • Be a team player! Happy to work under the guidance of members of the team and equally be given some autonomy to set up their own ways of working.
    • Eager to learn – this role has the potential to grow into a more specific role (such as operations, sales) if the business requires it.
    • Have a good business head – be able to find the most effective ways to work and make business suggestions you feel would be of benefit to the company!
  • Have a Keen interest in travel and hospitality sectors and preferably wine

Need to Know:

Working hours are 9-6 at our offices in London, 5 days a week (occasional weekend cover required). You’ll be working in a team of young, hard-working and passionate travellers from a range of countries! Annual staff trip, and Wine Friday is a must!
