Day 1
Arrive in Rye in East Sussex, one of England’s best-kept secrets. Nestled between green rolling hills and the English Channel it is one of the best-preserved medieval towns in England. Stay in a historic inn which was built in 1420. The inn has a long, jagged, and rather fascinating history, and attracts everyone from Shakespeare historians to ghost hunters — it’s a Medieval gem!
Spend the afternoon wandering the medieval town of Rye, the sort of place you thought existed only in your imagination. Walk the quaintly named cobbled lanes, such as Mermaid Street, lined with medieval, half-timbered houses where you will find unique shops, historic pubs and local restaurants to delight.
In the evening enjoy a three-course dinner in a charming setting, focused on using quality, seasonal, local ingredients paired with English wines.
