Day 1
Fly into Lyon and relax with private transfers on arrival to your accommodation, a beautiful chateau in Beaujolais, only fifteen minutes’ drive from Beaujeu, home of the Festival Beaujolais Nouveau. Beaujolais Nouveau, for the uninitiated, is one of the few wines in the world that is produced, bottled and released in only a matter of weeks, thanks to a winemaking technique known as carbonic maceration. The wine is red, bright, fruity and usually (quite unusually) served chilled. On your first day, you’ll celebrate everything about this unique wine, with private transfers to the town for an evening of food, wine tasting, live music and dancing, before enjoying the fireworks at midnight and celebrations of the new wine that last until dawn.
