Wines of Paris
Day 1

On arrival in Paris, relax with private transfers to your accommodation.  in the city’s lively Latin Quarter. The Latin Quarter takes you back to the Roman times, with such highlights as the Shakespeare & co Library, the Gallo-roman baths, and Place St Michel and Fountain St Michel all within walking distance. This evening you can relax and explore the local Parisian restaurants.

Day 2

In the morning, enjoy a Small Group Parisian market tour and cooking class with lunch. The colourful food markets in Paris are famous for offering a huge variety of freshly delivered local and regional produce, which vary according to the seasons. Visit a local market with an expert, this offers great insights into how the French choose the ingredients for their traditional recipes, you’ll be in great hands with a Cordon-Bleu trained chef for a fabulous Parisian Gourmet experience. After shopping for the ingredients, learn the secrets of authentic French cooking, the dishes are carefully chosen to reflect the fruit and vegetables in season at the time of your class, and Charlotte keeps a note of your menu so that you can try something new every time you visit. You will also be handed a copy of the recipes at the start of the class, so you can take notes as you go. After cooking together, you will sit down around the spacious kitchen and enjoy your beautiful lunch in a convivial atmosphere, with wine to accompany your meal. This really is a truly memorable Parisian Gourmet Experience.

Day 3

Today, discover the famous region of Champagne with a guided tour including hotel pick up. The day will begin with a guided tour of the Cathedral of Reims. Listed in the Unesco World Heritage, 13th century Notre-Dame de Reims Cathedral is one of Europe’s most important Gothic structures, then head into the vineyards with your guide to the Montagne de Reims. Visit the world famous Champagne Moët & Chandon, followed by a traditional lunch with wines. In the afternoon, visit a prestigious family domaine and finish the day with a Champagne tasting before returning to Paris.

Day 4

Take the high speed TGV from Paris to Bordeaux, where you will be staying in a 4 star boutique spa hotel in the heart of Bordeaux city with complimentary spa access. In the evening, enjoy a fabulous tasting menu on your first evening in Bordeaux! Boasting one Michelin star, 7 course tasting menu with super original flavours beautifully prepared and presented dishes paired with wine.

Day 5

This day will be devoted to the St Emilion vineyards, discover the wines from the region with a small group tour biking through the vineyards. A 20 km ride through the stunning vineyards. During the day you will be welcomed into two charming chateaux for tours of the cellars followed by tastings of the estates wines. Lunch will be served in the garden of a family run estate. In the afternoon, either take the train back to Bordeaux city or relax with private transfers.

Day 6

Enjoy a full day’s wonderful small group chauffeured tour to the Bay of Arcachon. Arcachon is set on the Atlantic coast 55 kilometers (34 miles) southwest of Bordeaux, it is a superb choice for beach lovers, but there’s a lot more to this stunning peninsula than sand dunes and Atlantic rollers. Discover the oyster sheds that are laid in rows one next to each other and that belong to the local oyster farmers that make this destination so well known to all French oyster aficionados. On arrival you will have the opportunity to taste oysters accompanied by French Fresh Baguette, lightly salted butter and of course paired with a crisp white wine! Your guide will assist with choosing the perfect venue to dine from one of the many high quality sea food restaurants located along the shore (not included). After a relaxing lunch, enjoy a unique boat ride on board a local “Pinasse”, the traditional boats of the Bay of Arcachon. Discover the “île aux oiseaux”(birds island). Ile aux Oiseaux is surrounded by oyster beds and bird life of the bassin d’Arcachon. Near the island, the famous cabanes tchanquées (cabins on stilts) stand overlooking the water. Later that afternoon your driver/guide will chauffeur you back to your accommodation.

Day 7

The morning to enjoy the ambiance, restaurants and bars of Bordeaux. This is a wonderful city to explore and a stroll along one of Europe’s longest esplanades is a must. Bordeaux is officially included in the list of UNESCO World Heritage sites and is home to over 350 historical monuments. It is an 18th century architectural gem and a delight to discover on foot. Relax from Bordeaux to St Malo by TGV, and you will be met with private transfers to the hotel. Stay two nights in a luxury hotel on the coast, a Belle Époque aristocratic pile overlooking Brittany’s coast with breath-taking views of Prieuré Bay.

Day 8

Meet with your private English speaking driver and discover Mont St Michel! One of the most picturesque historical sights to see in France. Medieval Mont St Michel abbey famously perches on top of a rocky island near the coasts of Normandy and Brittany. Mont St Michel is a small island off the coast of Normandy and Brittany that is most famous for its magnificent Romanesque-Gothic abbey buildings. After the tour enjoy lunch in a charming local restaurant with accompanying wine. Mid-afternoon transfers back to your hotel to relax and enjoy the pool and spa.

Day 9

In the morning, travel back to Paris. Stay in a elegant 4 star hotel a stone’s throw from the Champs Elysees, with breakfasts and city taxes included. The afternoon is yours to explore the city of lights – perhaps enjoy a stroll along the Seine.

Day 10

The last day of your Paris wine tasting tour is yours to explore the city of lights before returning home. Perhaps enjoy a stroll along the Seine. Or, to satisfy a sweet tooth, cross the river and head to rue Montorgueil, the birthplace of the delectable Rum Baba. Relax with private transfers to the airport.
