This is a guide price based on two people travelling together and sharing rooms.
On arrival, relax with private transfers and check into your boutique riverside hotel, just a short walk from the beautiful Old Town. Take the afternoon to visit Porto Cathedral, the Gothic-style Church of Saint Francis and the old Stock Exchange Palace, or simply take a stroll and immerse yourself in the winding galleries lined with vintage stores and gourmet pastry shops.
Today you’ll visit one of the most famous Port producers in the world. Enjoy a visit of the old cellars with an expert wine guide – the perfect introduction to the tastes and terroirs to come. Afterwards, sample a superb three-course menu on the terrace, offering stunning views of the river.
Today your private wine guide and chauffeur will collect you from your hotel for a tour of the Port lodges of the magnificent Douro Valley. Take in the stunning scenery along the winding roads towards Pinhao. Here you’ll take a tour of a famous Port Lodge and wander through vineyards with dramatic views across the surrounding hills and nearby Távora River. Visit another two boutique wine estates and meet the humble but passionate winemakers who make this region so famous. Taste their produce and learn about the winemaking process. Refuel with a six-course lunch alongside six wines, served in a magnificently located restaurant with its own terraced garden and views down the Douro. At the end of the day, you’ll be transferred to your next port of call – your unique hotel in the hearts of the Douro River Valley vineyards, staying in one of the wine barrels. This really is an immersive and exceptional way to make the most of your wine-tasting holiday.
Today you will cruise down the Douro in a traditional rabelo to our favourite wine estate where you will enjoy a premium wine tasting, absorbing the true feeling of the Douro Valley perched high up on the hillside and overlooking the climbing vineyards and famous Douro River below. This evening you will have a pre-dinner tasting at your estate to find out how this particular estate makes their wines before enjoying their homemade cuisine.
