Once settled at the hotel, your wine experience begins with a visit to a prestigious boutique winery. Day 2

The morning is yours to relax and explore the town of Haro; it has some wonderful religious and civil architecture. The church of Santo Tomas, also known as the Watchtower, stands at the foot of a hill and has an impressive archway. Local private transfers are included to the capital of ‘La Rioja’ – Logrono, where you will be based for the next two nights in a boutique 4-star hotel, situated in the heart of town in a restored 16th-century palace. Option to go for lunch in Elciego and perhaps visit the Marqués de Riscal estate en route to Logrono. Please ask for details.

Day 3

Your Rioja wine tasting tour continues with a private full day wine tasting experience around Rioja with your English speaking guide. You will visit a great variety of wineries, including charming, historic family-run wine caves as well as the larger prestigious estates. From iconic classics such as Contino, Marqués de Murrieta and Rioja Alta, to smaller hidden boutique estates.  During the day, unwind with a typical Riojan lunch whilst tasting superb local wines. In the evening, a chance there is a chance for a Tapas Crawl on Calle Laurel!  Without a doubt, one highlight of a visit to Rioja is being able to stroll along streets, well-known for the pincho bars, each one offering its own gastronomical specialities!

Day 4

Relax and explore Logrono. Visit the Old Town, where you will find yourself walking along streets that form part of the Way of St James; it really is an amazing place to explore on foot. On your journey home why not visit the Guggenheim Museum or if you are feeling hungry, extend your stay and discover the gastronomical delights of San Sebastián!
