Trip details

Day 1

Arrive in Bilbao and take some time to explore the impressive Guggenheim Museum if not for its impressive late 20th century art works then for its breathtaking architecture. Relax with private transfers and head across to San Sebastian, the foodie capital of Europe! Settle into your 5 star spa hotel which faces the Atlantic Ocean, the hotel has stunning views of the French Basque coastline, the ports of Orio and Getaria, as well as the coastal cliffs of Vizcaya. In the evening, your gourmet experience will start with a tasting dinner in a stunning 3 star Michelin restaurant with accompanying wines.

Day 2

The following day visit the attractive medieval fishing settlement of Getaria, which is a world away from nearby cosmopolitan San Sebastián where you have a tour of a wonderful local winery, following by a tasting of the txakoli wines with delicious local seafood products. The location and views are simply stunning! After the tour, relax with a superb Michelin star lunch in a nearby restaurant! Dine in a famous family restaurant on the Bay of Biscay. The history of the restaurant goes back as far as 1964. Over the years this restaurant has become the first address in Basque Country (and far beyond) for whole grilled fish, skin and all. In the evening head into San Sebastian for a fun tapas crawl discovering the buzzing tapas restaurants of the foodie capital of Europe!

Day 3

The morning is yours to relax and enjoy the wellness centre in the hotel. The spa boasts 800m ² of spa and wellness, including three treatment cabins -one of which is a double, sauna, steam bath and a heated hydrotherapy pool with a hydro jets circuit, jacuzzi and cascades for the back. We suggest heading into the centre of San Sebastian before returning to the airport by private transfer.
