Hidden within a traditional timbered exterior, L’Assiette Champenoise is a thoroughly modern hotel in the Tinqueux suburb of Reims. This Relais & Chateaux property is an intimate, family-run venture that’s perhaps best known as a temple of high gastronomy.
The 33 rooms and suites are charming and comfortable with muted, earthy tones. There’s a range of room grades, including grand suites with a reproduction of an iconic Impressionist painting behind the bed, and various facilities such a Zen lounge, a Jacuzzi bathtub, and a private terrace.
While the hotel makes a luxurious stop on a trip through Champagne, most guests have come to dine at the famous three-Michelin-starred restaurant. Chef Arnaud Lallement uses local, organic and seasonal cuisine, with a culinary nod to his Breton roots. As you might expect, the wine and champagne list is equally impressive.
An indoor heated pool, cosy lounge and bar, terrace, and surrounding park offer a fine complement to your stay.
