Bursting with character and charm, The Portobello Hotel is a quirky boutique bolthole located in a quiet, leafy corner of Notting Hill. Spread across two neo-classical mansions, this iconic hotel celebrates the eccentric spirit of this bohemian and glamorous neighbourhood, while offering a warm and homely welcome. And it’s seen its fair share of rock ‘n’ roll exploits and celebrity shenanigans over the years!
The 21 bedrooms are individually designed in a suitably eclectic style. Painted in bold colours or swathed in designer wallpaper, they feature patterned drapes, retro furniture, and antiques from Portobello’s famous market. There are five room categories, ranging from Good through to Outstanding, with the larger rooms boasting signature features such as a canopy or unique circular bed, and a private patio.
While there’s no restaurant on site, a continental or cooked breakfast is served in the Sitting Room or your bedroom, and a snack menu available throughout the day. There’s an honesty bar should you wish to enjoy a nightcap or pre-dinner drink, and an impressive selection of bars and restaurants within easy walking distance.
The Portobello Hotel doesn’t have its own spa, but it’s partnered with Notting Hill’s Cloud Twelve Wellness Spa, which is a five-minute walk away.
