Royal Champagne Hotel & Spa

Perched on a vine-clad hilltop in the village of Champillon, the Royal Champagne Hotel and Spa offers sweeping views over the Morne Valley – and a truly pampering stay. This former 19^th century coaching inn has been fully renovated with a contemporary flair, offering light, effervescent interiors with a nod to the colours and textures of the region and its most famous product.

The 47 luxurious rooms are light and spacious, with a terrace that’s ideal for sipping a glass of bubbly while admiring the sweeping vineyard views. The interior design uses natural materials of oak and stone, and a Champagne-inspired colour scheme with exquisite linens and fabric wallpapers that reflect the natural surrounds.

Dine at the Michelin-starred Le Royal to sample chef Jean-Denis Rieubland’s fine dining menu savouring the best local produce, or visit the more laid-back bistro restaurant, Le Bellevue. As you might expect, there’s a comprehensive wine and champagne list, which is also available at the Abysse bar, along with cocktails and tapas-style nibbles.

The hotel has two pools, a striking outdoor infinity pool and heated indoor pool, along with an elegant spa featuring several treatment rooms, a sauna and hammam. Guests can also hire electric bikes to explore the region, or take a trip on the elegant 1920s riverboat.
