Trip details

Day 1

Upon arrival at Lisbon Airport, you’ll be met by your private driver and transferred to your five-star hotel, a beautifully restored 16th century palace in the heart of Lisbon.

Refresh with a dip in the outdoor pool or unwind after your journey with a treatment in the spa. Then we have the perfect dinner suggestion to get your trip off to a memorable start.

Day 2

Savour the tastes of Lisbon and get a flavour of this picturesque city on a private food tour. This morning tour introduces you to some of the best-loved dishes and pastries (including the famous pastel de nata) in Lisbon, and gives you a glimpse of everyday life in the city.

Enjoy some leisure time this afternoon. Your hotel is perfectly placed for exploring more of the city – or you might prefer to relax with a glass of wine next to the pool.

Day 3

Enjoy a relaxing morning in your Lisbon hotel – perhaps you can squeeze in one last swim or a final massage in the spa – before swapping the bustling city for the peace and tranquillity of Alentejo.

Your private driver will transport you to a traditional, family-run vineyard with a fascinating history dating back to the 19th century. Enjoy a tour and tasting, and savour a vineyard lunch, before continuing to your five-star design hotel in the heart of Alentejo

Day 4

Located in the shadow of Roman ruins, the Torre de Palma wine hotel celebrates the Roman passions of wine, olive oil, horses and spas. You’ll spend today at the hotel, touring the vineyard, learning about the history of the property which dates back to the 14th century, and of course sampling its many delights. Your day includes a vineyard lunch of traditional Alentejo cuisine accompanied by wines from the estate.

Enjoy an afternoon at leisure – if you’re feeling active you can ride a traditional Lusitano horse in the hotel grounds, or retreat to the spa for a little pampering.

Day 5

After breakfast, check out of your wine hotel and set off for the beautiful medieval town of Evora, capital of the Alentejo region. Enjoy a guided walking tour around the historic buildings, Roman ruins and medieval cathedral of this UNESCO World Heritage Site, and stop at a traditional quinta on the outskirts of town for a wine tour and tasting.

Your journey continues to the sleepy fishing village of Comporta where you’ll check into the sleek boutique hotel, Sublime Comporta, nestled amid sand dunes and pine forest.

Day 6

Tucked at the base of the Troia Peninsula, Comporta offers pure barefoot chic, its dreamy windswept coastline a jealously guarded secret among the European elite. Discover the region on a private e-biking adventure, which includes a visit to the picturesque fishing port at Carrasqueira.

In the afternoon, head to the Sublime Comporta Beach Club, a short 10-minute walk from the hotel. Stretch out on a sunbed to work on your tan, sip a cocktail at the beach bar, and enjoy dinner at the restaurant watching the ever-changing colours of sunset.

Day 7

It’s the final day of your trip today, but you’ve plenty of time to relax around the pool, indulge in a spa treatment, or squeeze in a few more hours at the beach club before your onward journey.

If you fancy extending your Portuguese adventure, why not head north to explore the delights of Porto and the Douro Valley?
