Wine Lovers Tour of Priorat and Penedès

Day 1

Upon arrival at Barcelona Airport, you’ll be met by your private driver and transported to your boutique hotel in the heart of the city.

Enjoy an afternoon at leisure. You might like to wander the picture-perfect Gothic Quarter or take in the sights, sounds and street entertainment along the world-famous boulevard, Las Ramblas.

Later in the evening enjoy an indulgent introduction to Barcelona’s gourmet delights on a private tapas tour, walking through the El Born and Gothic neighborhood of Barcelona. Hear about the history of the area, Savor delicious tapas and local products from authentic restaurants, and try exquisite wines along the way.

Day 2

Following breakfast at your hotel, your private guide will collect you for a full-day chauffeured tour of Priorat. Located southwest of Barcelona, this small, rural wine region produces some of Spain’s most exciting, full-bodied, and elite wines.

You’ll visit three wineries to meet the winemakers, tour the vineyards to witness the Garnacha (Grenache) and Cariñena (Carignan) vines and their unique terroir, and savour tastings of their rich, sultry red wines. Along the way, admire the red ochre mountains of the Montsant National Park and marvel at steep valleys carpeted with vines. The tour includes a gourmet vineyard lunch with valley views.

Day 3

With a rich history of wine production dating back to the 7^th century BC, today’s wine tour introduces you to a very different style of wine. Your private guide will collect you after breakfast and take you to the Penedès wine region, home to a diversity of wines but known primarily as the birthplace of Cava.

You’ll visit two wineries to tour the vineyards, and learn about their unique climate and terroir, and some of the organic and biodynamic methods used to produce traditional Cava. Then enjoy tutored tastings of this famous sparkling wine, along with some innovative whites and reds. A traditional Catalan lunch paired with wine is included in the village of Sant Sadurní d’Anoia.

Day 4

Following a leisurely breakfast at your hotel, your private driver will take you to Barcelona Airport for your onward journey.
